A major change in the jumping rules is that from 1 January 2021, only backboats with a certain description will be allowed at all international show jumping events. In addition, the use of veterinary wraps or similar dressings under the back boots is no longer allowed. The FEI has also established the rule for rowel spurs: spores with notched or serrated rotating discs are not allowed anywhere on the field of international jumping events, while spores with rotating discs that are not notched or serrated are allowed. A major change in veterinary regulations is that pruning, shaving and/or removal of sensory hair will be sanctioned from 1 July 2021 with the disqualification of the horse from the event.
